Storing a mixed vial
Want the numbers for your own vial? Use the calculator. It works offline and nothing leaves your device.
Your label comes first
How long a mixed vial lasts, and at what temperature, depends on the product. Check your product’s label or documentation for its storage temperature and how long it can be used after mixing. MixVials doesn’t give storage times because they differ from product to product.
General basics
- Many mixed products are kept refrigerated and away from light, but not all. Follow your label.
- Don’t freeze unless your label says to.
- Keep it away from heat and direct sunlight, and don’t leave it in a hot car.
- Wipe the rubber top with a fresh alcohol swab before every draw, and use a new sterile syringe each time.
Label the vial
Write the date you mixed it and the concentration on the vial. The calculator can print a small label with both.
When to throw it out
- The liquid is cloudy, has particles or floaters, or has changed colour.
- It is past the use window on your product’s label.
- You aren’t sure how it was stored, or it was frozen or overheated by mistake.
